Adam Choppin (pr: ‘Shōw-păn’), Fronteira Global’s President, is a veteran analyst of emerging and frontier markets with in-country experience ranging from Iraq and Afghanistan to Ghana and Brazil. Mr. Choppin has worked with hundreds of companies across the globe to develop market strategies, analyze investment opportunities, develop partnerships, overcome market access barriers, leverage U.S. government programs for global business, and find reliable partners in frontier markets. Mr. Choppin is also an Adjunct Professor of International Business for the College of Business at Ohio University.

Prior to founding Fronteira Global, Mr. Choppin served with the U.S. Department of Commerce's Iraq and Afghanistan Investment and Reconstruction Task Force. From 2006-2008, Mr. Choppin was one of a half dozen U.S. Government experts to formulate and execute U.S. commercial and economic policy to Iraq and Afghanistan during this critical period. In June 2008, Mr. Choppin also organized the first official U.S. Government trade mission to Iraq in over 20 years. Mr. Choppin’s other previous experience includes work for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and the Department’s of State, Treasury, and USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development). Mr. Choppin was also a Presidential Management Fellow in the International Trade Administration.

Mr. Choppin earned his B.A. in International Relations from the University of Southern California, with honors, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and valedictorian of the USC School of International Relations; his M.A. in International Relations with emphases in Economics and Business from Yale University; and a post-graduate Diploma in Finance from the London School of Economics. He is fluent in Portuguese and professionally proficient in Spanish.

Leandro da Silva (pr: Lay-ăn-drro), Fronteira Global’s Representative in Curitiba, Brazil, is a veteran businessman of southern Brazil’s largest metropolitan region. Based in Curitiba, Mr. da Silva has over 25 years of business experience encompassing transactional work across the country. Among other accomplishments, Mr. da Silva is an accredited valuation advisor for the Brazilian petro-giant Petrobrás. Mr. da Silva earned his B.A. in Business Administration from the Faculdade de Educação Superior do Paraná and a post-graduate degree in Real Estate Transactions from the Universidade Federal do Paraná.

Fronteira Global’s non-exclusive affiliates across the globe are all also local businesspersons, with years of in-country entrepreneurial, advisory, and other transactional experience.
